Free Bets
This will be only the fourth running of one of the newest races added to the Royal Ascot schedule in the shape of the Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes. It is run over the straight 5F it’s for three-year-olds only rated 0-105 with the first three runnings tending towards the high-numbered stalls. Art Power was very well backed on the first running and went on to win at the highest level.

Consistent as a two-year-old and wasn’t disgraced on re-appearance when finishing 6th to Great State in York listed race. First handicap today off of a big weight.
Michaela’s Boy

Good run when a 33/1 chance at York in listed contest in May and has been raised 4lb for that run. This will be her fifteenth career start and it will be a surprise if he’s hiding anything from the handicapper.
Hispanic

Behind a few of these when running 8th of 10 in listed race at York on re-appearance. Bit to find on that run but can’t totally be dismissed because of his connections.
Looking For Lynda

Not disgraced in listed company in re-appearance but this is his twelfth start and the handicapper appeared to have him about right now.
Danger Alert

The 12/1 winner on soft ground at Chester last time by a head from Jer Batt. Raised 6lb and this will be a totally different type of race although jockey booking is interesting.
Kerdos

Finished 1 1/4L third to Danger Alert at Chester when last seen and 4lb better off with that one. Shouldn’t be much between them although the handicapper may have the pair of them.
Rogue Spirit

Last on re-appearance behind a few of these in listed race at York and has to prove that he’s trained on. Best watched today.

Running in a handicap for the first time and has shown plenty of ability including when runner-up to Great State in listed race at York in May with several of these behind. May not have stayed 6F in France since and back to the minimum trip is interesting.
Sweet Harmony

Has been keeping good company over 6F and further and makes her handicap debut here dropping to the minimum trip. The initial handicap mark looks fair enough.

Chasing a five-timer having won four handicaps over 6F on various types of ground conditions rising some 17lb in the weights. Tough sort but will a drop to 5F suit?

Been running well in 5F handicaps this season and is now 11lb higher than when runner up to the re-opposing Danger Alert at Chester last time. Has to prove himself on this faster ground as well.

Easy all-weather winner over this trip in May but was soundly beaten twice since and is now 8lb higher than the Newcastle victory.

Best effort this year came at the beginning of the month when runner-up in the 6F handicap at Windsor at 25/1. 2lb higher now and drops a furlong. May just be in the handicapper’s grip.

Speedy type who is up 7lb for his win at Epsom over 5F earlier this month. Going the right way and has definite each-way claims.

Dual winner as a two-year-old but ran a shocker on re-appearance when apparently becoming unbalanced in the dip at Newmarket and tailing off. Impossible to fancy on that run.

Consistent gelding who ran well under today’s jockey Hayley Turner following a layoff of 112 days when third of nine at Goodwood. Has each-way claims.

Limitations found out on handicap debut when only 10th of 18 in valuable York 5F handicap in May. Had previously won three times on all-weather and handicapper has dropped him a pound. Stable has been among the winners this week at Ascot.

First run for a new stable having joined from Jessie Harrington in Ireland. Showed promise in winning a Navan maiden and second in the 6F handicap as a two-year-old but this will be a surprise were she to take this.

Chasing a hat trick following victories in a three-runner Ripon maiden and an all-weather handicap at Kempton last week. Has to shoulder a 6lb penalty for that victory though.

Won twice for George Boughey since joining him from John & Thady Gosden at Wolverhampton and Lingfield. Upped 3lb for the latest victory in March and been popular in the ante-post market.

Appeared to enjoy a step back to 5F on the fast ground when winning at Goodwood in May. 5lb higher now but not without an each-way chance.

Dropped 7lb this season for three outings where he’s not shown much and is hard to believe he will be good enough in this company.
Azure Angel

Dual all-weather winner as a juvenile. Only 4th of 7 in Windsor handicap on re-appearance and will need to step up from that effort to feature here.
Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes Betting Tips
A minefield of a race with 29 three-year-olds hurtling down the track. The one for early money has been George Boughey’s Conquistador who we haven’t seen for 90 days and win or lose looks poor value to me at his current odds of around 6/1. The 5F listed contest at York at the Dante meeting may be the best form guide here with seven of them running there.
Pillow Talk beat all bar the winner Great State and her subsequent defeat in France can be put down to her not staying the 6th furlong or the race coming too soon. She may be the value bet now back at 5F.
