Cheltenham Festival Races Overview

Cheltenham is renowned as the premier National Hunt racecourse venue in the UK, playing host to quality national hunt racing including the Cheltenham Festival in March over four days. The blue riband races of the season, the Gold Cup and the Champion Hurdle are run here at the Festival in March.

The course is situated at Prestbury Park,near Cheltenham and dates back to as long ago as 1815. The racecourse is located in a natural amphitheatre with scenic views all round with the racecourse having a capacity of 65,000 spectators.

The track has two courses , the Old Course and the New Course. The Old Course is in action for the Showcase and the November Meeting plus the Tuesday & Wednesday of the Festival. The cross-country course is laid out inside the main racecourse.

Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle
