Clonmel Races Overview

Clonmel Racecourse is a dual-purpose racecourse situated in the town of Clonmel in County Tipperary. It is one of three racecourses in Tipperary and hosts races throughout the year with a total of 12 meetings under both flat and jump rules.

The course is a right-handed oval stretching over 1 1/4 miles with a challenging run-in of 2 1/2 furlongs and an uphill finish. Throughout the jumps season there are 6 hurdles and 7 fences.

Clonmel Races History

Clonmel Racecourse has been hosting racing for over 150 years.

A Supporters Club was established in 1988 with the aim of bringing sponsorship and additional revenue to the racecourse.

This extra funding allowed the facilities to be improved and prize money to be increased. In 2009, an extension renovation of the racecourse was carried out.
