Default XML Odds feed

Anyone know of any bookmakers that provide an XML feed of their odds? Be useful to be able to grab that info rather then having to interpret the HTML pages.

I will be contacting various bookmakers myself and posting the details here of what I find.
Please post any you may know in this thread and I will include here.

Quite a few of them have XML feeds these days,
won't post them here as i'm not sure if they are intended for the general public or just for 'business partners'

Just send an email to customer service and see what reply you get.

There is one who has it on the homepage and thats Pinnacle.

Ya I guessed from their email that they had one but it wasn't for personal use by punters. Might try a more formal email next time round to see how I get on.

Well most of the bookies contacted appear to be rubbish at getting back to me! I'll follow up with them when I get the chance. If you develop in Java please check out my Betfair Wrapper, wouldbe interested to get any feedback about how good/bad it is and whether you'd like to see anything else done with it.

Long term plan is to develop something to wrap around all the XML feeds, but thats a long way down the road

Was wondering how long it would take for someone to ask that question

You generate these files using axis -> http://ws.apache.org/axis/

Details of how to generate the files are in this snippet -> http://wiki.apache.org/ws/FrontPage/...tingYourClient

Theres also an article on betfair developer forums which shows how to integrate it into netbeans (can't post it right now as stuck behind a proxy but will do once I get a chance over the weekend).

If you still can't do it let me know and I'll post the files.

god where was this thread when I needed it! Nice one.. Have been wanting to explore setting up something to make people bet thru me, and what could be better than a bet-comparison service
These feeds will be a godsend- so cheers

Edit:

We will monitor usage and block IPs of anyone not using this feed properly.
1. Get the complete odds the first time and then make use of the "last" parameter.
2. Do not read the feed more than one times per minute.

Assholes ! (shakes fist)

Can anyone name bookies in addition to those named already who provide publicly available XML feeds? I can also add Gamebookers to those already mentioned.

There the only ones I have at the moment. Can you send me the Gamebookers link and I'll include it in the list?

Been having a play with open kapow to try and fill in the gaps for the bookies without any XML feeds. I've done up a fairly basic one for Paddypower. Anyone want to take a look and tell me what they think, any additions/enhancements etc.? Once I decide on a consistent output format I'll lash together a few for other bookies.

Probably a stupid question but what do these feeds do and what are they. Also, is the William Hill's one free for the general public to download legally and what are the advantages of it for personal use.

Thanks

The feeds basically provide all the odds for the bookmaker in machine readable format so you can write programs to read in the data and analyse it. If you're not a programmer or something theres little you can do with it, but if you can get them to feed into something then they are very useful. for example BetBrain & Oddschecker are prime examples of what these would be useful for.

As for the will hill question, I'd have to assume that yes it is free for general consumption as I sumply emailed them to get it.
