General House Rules for posting.

These are the House Rules that apply to any part of Punters Lounge. You may find additional Rules for the individual Forums at the bottom or posted on top of each individual Forum. After signing up you are welcome to read any thread anywhere on Punters Lounge. Before posting check these rules as well as any Rules that apply specifically to the Forum in which you which to post.

1) Post bets before the event is played.

2) Do not edit posts containing bets. This may lead to confusion as people can get the idea you posted after the event, or changed your bet after the event. For corrections just add another post.

3) Post in english and conduct yourself in an adult manner. No language that is obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws. Having an argument is fine, just don't let it get personal.

4) In general when posting bets add reasoning to your selections.
( Individual forums may have additional rules. )

5) Spam, unsolicitated advertising, will be removed and the poster banned.

6) Links to other websites may be removed at the sole discretion of the moderators team. If you wish to know for sure if it is ok to post a link to a specific site then ask one of the moderators first. Owners of commercial websites/services should contact PL's owner Paul Ross for permission before posting links, email team@punterslounge.com , they are otherwise considered spam.

As long as you show respect for other members the General Chat Forum may be considered a forum where "anything goes".

User privileges, Signatures:

After signing up you can have a signature consisting of a single line of text with a maximum of 80 characters.

You may request additional signature privileges at any time by making a request to join the "Extended Signatures" usergroup. This is done from your User Control Panel with the option "Group Memberships". Extended signature privileges allow for 3 lines, a maximum of 200 visible characters and include the usage of smilies, mark-up code and html for links. ( but no images )

If you wish to add a link for a website or blog to your signature then you must mention the link when making the request. In general links will be accepted for poker blogs and non-commercial websites who link back to Punters Lounge, but each request is looked at on a case by case basis.

Adding links to posts without having requested permission may be considered spam and removed followed by a ban.


User privileges, Usage of the PM system:

After first signing up a member cannot use the PM system. The system will become available automatically after having made 50 posts.

It is possible to request access to the PM system at any time, regardless of post count, by making a request to join the "PM usage" usergroup. This is done from your User Control Panel with the option "Group Memberships". Please note however that you will need a good valid reason before early access is granted.

Usage of the PM system is restricted because of excessive abuse in the past. By using the PM system you accept that messages may be monitored by the owner/representative of Punters Lounge ltd. This is done with the sole purpose of detecting unauthorised usage such as spamming/advertising, phishing, harassment of members,etc... And monitoring is done usually only after a specific complaint has been received.
