The Aintree Grand National is one of the most famous horse racing events in the world, held annually in Liverpool, England. Grand National 2022 Result - Noble Yeats

The youngest post-second war winner at 7 years of age and the first since 1940 winner Bogskar. Going off at an unfancied 50/1 chance for Irish trainer Emmet Mullins. Amateur rider Sam Whaley-Cohen was on board and immediately announced his retirement in the winners’ enclosure afterwards.

Grand National 2021 Result - Minella Times

History was made as Rachael Blackmore became the first female winner of the race. The Irish dominated the race with 10 of the first 11 trained in the Emerald Isle. The race may well have left a mark on the JP McManus-owned eight-year-old as he only managed to beat two horses in just six subsequent starts.

Grand National 2019 Result - Tiger Roll

Became the first horse to successfully defend the title since Red Rum in the 1970s. Given an excellent ride by Davy Russell in the Gigginstown colours he was extremely well backed having previously bolted up in the Cross Country race at Cheltenham going off the 4/1 favourite.

Grand National 2018 Result - Tiger Roll

Was all out having being 6L ahead at the elbow to win by a head at 10/1 for trainer Gordon Elliott. Run on the heavy ground it was a terrific effort from Tiger Roll who went on to become only the fifth dual winner the following year.

Grand National 2017 Result - One For Arthur

Struck for the Scottish stables of Lucinda Russell at odds of 14/1. Only the second-ever victory for a Scottish-trained horse. Rubstic in 1979 beinhe was ably ridden by Derek Fox. 6th the following year he never won another race after this titanic effort.

Grand National 2016 Result - Rule The World

Ran out a 6L winner for owners Gigginstown and Irish trainer Mouse Morris at odds of 33/1. Was a second-season chaser and this was his first-ever win over fences being 0 from 13 over fences coming into the race.

Grand National 2015 Result - Many Clouds

A third win for owner Trevor Hemmings making his tally a joint record following his successes with Hedgehunter in 2005 and Ballabriggs in 2011. Trained at Lambourn by Oliver Sherwood and ridden by Leighton Aspell who became the first jockey since Brian Fletcher on Red Rum in 1974 to win the race in successive years.

Grand National 2014 Result - Pine De Re

Dr Richard Newland trained the winner with his first-ever runner in the race drawing clear on the run-in to win by 5L from Balthazar King (the closest jockey Richard Johnson came to winning the race in 21 attempts.) Leighton Aspell was on board the winner and went on to win the following year’s contest as well.

A shock 66/1 winner trained by Yorkshire-based Sue Smith. Given a fine waiting ride by Ryan Mania. The horse was only seen another three times and never reproduced the form he showed on that April day.

Grand National 2012 Result - Neptune Collonges

Was champion trainer Paul Nicholls’ only National winner to date. Owned by John Hales and ridden by Daryl Jacob he came with a wet sail to win on the line by a nose from Sunnyhillboy at 33/1 and became the first grey to win the race since Nicholas Silver back in 1961. He was retired after the race.

Yes, three greys have won the National, The Lamb back in 1868 and 1871, Nicholas Silver in 1961 and most recently Neptune Collonges in 2012.
