Welsh Dragons vs Surrey Betting: The short straight boundaries can see the sixes line covered in Cardiff
The CB40 televised action moves to the Welsh channel S4C on Saturday as they cover the match between the Welsh Dragons and the Surrey Lions at Cardiff’s Sophia Gardens. Surrey come into the match with a 100% record in three matches while Glamorgan have been beaten by Hampshire and suffered a washout against Scotland so they will be keen to kick start their campaign here but it is the defending champions Surrey who are the 1/2 favourites with Blue Square.
Glamorgan have started the season quite poorly but there have been signs recently that they might finally be coming into some form. Injuries haven’t helped them with Graham Wagg being out for the past month after a really strong start to the season while James Harris only returned from injury himself this week. Martin van Jaarsveld has arrived now and he is in the squad here as is the former England paceman Simon Jones.
Surrey have started the season well especially in one day cricket. As defending champions they are comfortable in this format and it has shown already. They are still a young side but with Hamilton-Brown, Davies and Maynard in the form they are in they will always go well. With the ball the likes of Meaker and Dernbach are real livewires while Murali Kartik will begin his overseas stint for the club in this match.
Surrey could well have four spinners in action in this match which could prove the difference but at 1/2 I think they are a little bit on the short side. One bet I do like is the over 4.5 6’s. The straight boundaries here are very short indeed and both sides bat quite a long way down. Even the likes of Spriegel and Batty down the order can hit a decent ball. Both teams are better at batting than bowling so I’ll take the overs here.
