Tottenham vs Inter Milan Betting: Pace and power can be the way to success for Spurs in first leg
Perhaps the tie of the last 16 of the Europa League on Thursday night comes from White Hart Lane as Tottenham entertain Inter Milan in the first leg of their tie with both sides having more than one eye on the quarter finals of the competition and maybe even going all the way. Whoever comes through this tie will know they’ve seen off a danger for the title and will fancy their chances.
Tottenham go into this match as the 4/5 favourites with Paddy Power. They are on the middle of a strong run in the Premier League which has seen them move up to 3rd place in the table and hunting down Manchester City above them. Jermain Defoe came off the bench in the win over Arsenal at the weekend and he is set to start this match with Emmanuel Adebayor injured. Moussa Dembele was injured against Arsenal but the injury wasn’t as serious as first feared and he could play here.
Inter Milan head to White Hart Lane in decent enough form themselves but they do have a few injuries not least to Diego Milito who is out for the remainder of the season. The Italians will also be without centre backs Andrea Ranocchia and Walter Samuel who are also injured. The Italians still have plenty of household names such as Javier Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso and Antonio Cassano.
With the form Tottenham are in at the minute I think they are the likely winners of the tie even though they are a bit short at odds on. Inter will provide stern opposition but they might sit back a bit more than usual knowing they have the second leg to come next week. Spurs have a lot of pace throughout their side and some of Inter’s players are getting no younger and that could be the difference here.
