Taylor vs Anderson Betting: Phil Taylor can cruise past Gary Anderson in Nottingham
Phil Taylor plays in the fourth match of this week’s Premier League show at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham on Thursday night and he takes on the former Premier League champion in Gary Anderson over the best of 12 legs. Taylor was held to a draw by James Wade last week but that was enough to keep him top of the table and he goes into this match as the 4/11 favourite with Blue Square.
Phil Taylor is still undefeated in the Premier League this season. He has won twice and drawn twice so far and a win here will keep him on top of the pile going into week six of the tournament. Taylor will probably have been putting in the practice hours with the first tournament in the European Tour this weekend and even though he’s using new darts again he didn’t look any less dangerous last week.
Gary Anderson is starting to run out of time to get the points he needs to avoid relegation. Anderson dropped into the relegation zone on leg difference last week and if he loses here like most expect him to do then he’ll have just four weeks to get himself out of the drop zone. One area of real concern for Anderson is his scoring going off the boil. His doubles have never been great but often his scoring has got him out of trouble. He’ll need to score well here.
I don’t think too many people outside of Scotland will expect Gary Anderson to win this match and most of the people in Scotland will probably expect him to lose too. The worry is that he isn’t scoring very well and Taylor will score well so it is hard to see how Anderson gets to the double if his scoring doesn’t improve before we even need to worry about him then hitting the double. Anderson will be under pressure throughout here and I only see that playing into the hands of Taylor who can win this comfortably.
