Pune Warriors vs Delhi Daredevils Betting: Pune can complete a quick double over a strong Delhi side
The ten point mark will be reached for the first time this season in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday afternoon when leaders Delhi Daredevils travel to take on Pune Warriors in the opening match of the double header on the day. Both sides come into the match with eight points so the winners will take the lead at the top of the table on their own for at least a few hours.
Pune come into the match knowing that they beat Delhi Daredevils on their own ground as recently as Saturday. They come into this match as the 11/8 outsiders with Stan James despite being two from two on their own ground this season. In the reverse fixture between these two Jesse Ryder was in superb form with the bat but it was the returning Alfonso Thomas who really starred taking 3/22 in his four overs in a match changing spell.
Delhi Daredevils were looking in a good position in their run chase in the reverse fixture but they didn’t quite have the strength in their batting depth to chase down over 190. Things were going well when Virender Sehwag and Kevin Pietersen were smacking it to all parts. It fell apart when they were out but they will be hoping they don’t have to chase as many runs in this match and the onus will be on their bowlers to ensure that.
I think Pune could be worth a shot in this match. The wicket won’t come onto the bat like it did in Delhi and the spinners, of which Delhi don’t have many, could well come into their own here. Pune have a very strong bowling attack and one which can restrict any side in the competition as they showed in the reverse match. If Delhi’s attack doesn’t halt the flow of runs this could be a long day for the Daredevils. I’ll take the home side here.
Back Pune Warriors to beat Delhi Daredevils for a 4/10 stake at 2.38 with Stan James
