Premier League Betting: Gerard Houllier into 5/2 to be the next boss to leave after Villa's defeat by Wolves

Gerard Houllier is into the 5/2 joint favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave their job, alongside Steve Kean with Skybet. Pressure has been mounting at Villa Park for a good few weeks and it seems the fans have finally had enough. There were banners and chanting prompting Houllier to leave or be sacked when Villa hosted Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.

Villa lost the game 1-0 to leave them just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League and that along with playing a reserve team at Man City in the FA Cup a few weeks ago has seen Villa fans run out of patience with the Frenchman.

He isn’t alone in frustrating his team’s supporters though. Steve Kean has frustrated Blackburn fans almost since he was appointed and although they came back from 2-0 down to draw against Blackpool at the weekend it’s 2pts lost which doesn’t inspire Blackburn fans too much. Although Blackburn sit in 13th place in the league table they are only one point above the drop zone.

Roberto Martinez is the 3rd favourite in the market to leave but he’s working for a chairman who doesn’t sack managers at the drop of a hat. Dave Whelan is a loyal chairman and having played the game himself can see when progress is being made. Wigan showed at the weekend that although they are bottom of the table, they can win matches and can still escape this season.

It’s 8/1 bar those three although William Hill who offer a no manager to leave this season option, have cut Roberto Mancini into 6/1 to be the next to leave this season after exiting the Europa League in the last 16 stage and then watching his City side surrender meekly to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
