New York Giants @ San Francisco Betting: Eli Manning can guide the Giants to another Super Bowl
The NFC Championship game comes from Candlestick Park as San Francisco take on New York Giants for a place in the Super Bowl in Indianapolis in two weeks time. The Giants were Super Bowl champions in 2008 but not since 1995 have the San Francisco 49ers graced the Super Bowl. They are the 4/5 favourites with Ladbrokes to make it through to the showpiece occasion but this is sure to be fiercely contested.
San Francisco have had a fantastic season. Frank Gore has been their main man in offense although Alex Smith’s decision making has improved and when he needed to up it against New Orleans last week he did and that bodes well for the 49ers in this match. However the 49ers game is all about their defence. You can’t run on them and if the likes of Aldo Smith can get to the quarterback then San Francisco will have every chance.
New York Giants have really come alive in recent weeks and their win over Green Bay last week was rarely ever in doubt. They never fully established their run game in that match but Eli Manning’s arm got the job done and it will need to be that way here. The Giants pass rush has really clicked into gear now and because of that they have restricted two potent offences to very few points.
I think experience of winning a Championship match in the recent past will help the Giants here and they can use that and the confidence of their defence playing good football to win this match. They won’t run on the 49ers but Eli will be able to throw on them and that could be the difference. In what I foresee as a low scoring tussle the extra offensive weapons on the Giants side can send them to the Super Bowl.
