Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings Betting: Mumbai have the better balance which can see them into semi finals
The defending Indian Premier League champions, Chennai Super Kings, were extremely fortunate to make it into this season’s playoffs but now that they have qualified for the postseason they will be looking to successfully defend their title. They take on the Mumbai Indians, the side they beat in the final two years ago, in Bangalore on Wednesday afternoon UK time with the loser knowing their season is over. The winner progresses to Chennai for the semi final.
Mumbai Indians come into this match as the slight favourites although Ladbrokes can’t split the two sides and offer 10/11 the pair. The Indians cruised into the playoff series and finished their regular season with a 10 wicket win over the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on Sunday so their confidence should be high. This Bangalore ground is small so Lasith Malinga could be the key man rather than the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Kieron Pollard.
Chennai Super Kings just haven’t found any consistency whatsoever this season and they will need to find some now if they are to defend their title. With the bat the likes of Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni, two massive players for them, haven’t really got going this season while with the ball they have struggled to get on top of sides particularly when the quicker bowlers are bowling and another concern to their attack is their spinners could go a long way on this ground.
Chennai are masters at winning when they have to and are looking for a hat trick of titles in this playoff series but I think they have had their time and I think on this ground in particular and with the reliable four overs of Lasith Malinga not to mention the likes of Kieron Pollard’s big hitting I think the Mumbai Indians will prevail here and head to Chennai for the semi final.
Back Mumbai Indians to beat Chennai Super Kings for a 4/10 stake at 1.91 with Ladbrokes
