Man Utd vs Crawley betting: Crawley to do themselves justice at Old Trafford
The most intriguing match of the 5th round of the FA Cup sees non league Crawley Town travel to Old Trafford to play Manchester United live on ITV1 on Saturday evening. The world’s richest club take on a side who have spent big this season in a bid to secure promotion to the Football League for the very first time. Having struggled with non league sides in Exeter and Burton in the past, United will want to come through this match with the minimum of fuss.
Manchester United look like making some changes to their side for this match however with a Champions League game with Marseille coming up next week. Sir Alex Ferguson made 8 changes in the last round against Southampton and would appear set to do similar here. That could mean starting places for the likes of Anders Lindegaard, Javier Hernandez and Michael Owen. One man who definitely won’t play is Park Ji Sung who is out with a hamstring injury.
Crawley have no new injury concerns ahead of the tie and all eyes will be on Matt Tubbs, their top scorer. Tubbs is rumoured to have caught the eye of big sides like Leeds, Southampton and Peterborough among others and will look to boost his profile with a goal at the Theatre of Dreams. It’s not all about Tubbs though with the likes of Sergio Torres, Richard Brodie and Ben Smith all good players at their level.
Most people would expect this to be a comfortable win for United but Crawley are a hard team to play against. They are always in your face and are prepared to kick anything that moves. Class in the end should prevail but I don’t think Crawley will be thrashed here. With a goal threat like Tubbs around they could even nick a goal of their own. Bet365 have their handicap line set at +3 which is a bit too high given the strength of the United side we could see here.
Back Crawley (+3) to beat Man Utd for a 3/10 stake at 2.25 with Bet365
