Man City vs Barnsley Betting: Man City can cruise into the semi finals of the FA Cup on Saturday evening
The second of the FA Cup quarter finals comes from the Etihad Stadium as the 2011 winners Manchester City entertain Barnsley in front of the ESPN cameras. City will see this as probably their last realistic chance of silverware while Barnsley will be eyeing up another FA Cup semi final having lost to Cardiff in the 2008 semi. Manchester City are warm favourites for this match and are no bigger than 1/7 with Bet365.
Roberto Mancini’s men go into this match having found a little bit of form and having seen off Championship opposition in the form of Watford and Leeds so far in the competition they will be looking for a hat trick of Championship scalps. They will have to win this without their captain Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero who both miss out with injury. Mancini may decide to play a few fringe players but his side will still be strong.
Barnsley have only won one match since they beat Milton Keynes Dons in the last round and that was against a struggling Wolves side. That’s to be expected in many ways as this is a huge match for the club and its players. Stephen Dawson could return to the side having missed a string of matches through injury but Barnsley’s real concern coming into this match is the amount of goals they have been conceding.
I wouldn’t expect Manchester City to have too many difficulties in this match and I think they will run out comfortable winners. Barnsley have started leaking goals at an alarming rate and City’s forward players could feast on that while at the other end City have kept three successive clean sheets and look to be defending solidly. Barnsley have goals in them but whether they’ll be able to get up and support their attackers is subject to debate. I’m not convinced they will and I think City can win this without conceding.
