Lisicki vs Medina Garrigues Betting: No problems expected for the world's number eighteen
Yesterday was another successful day for us, as Sabine Lisicki covered the handicap against Daniela Hantuchova and David Ferrer recorded a comfortable victory over Nikolay Davydenko. Unfortunately, Marion Bartoli had to retire with an injury - but that is not anything tragic. Today, I am going to back two selections from the women's section. First of all, I am going to look at the clash between Anabel Medina Garrigues and Sabine Lisicki.
The world's number eighteen had no problems in the opening round (once she found her rhythm, she was basically unstoppable) and I actually believe that she is the favourite for the title now. This surface is pretty quick and Lisicki certainly knows how to take advantage of that. Her serve is incredibly efficient and I am sure that she will build on that factor once again.
Honestly, Anabel Medina Garrigues should have lost the match against Marion Bartoli - and this is probably going to be the end of the road for her. Today, she will be up against another powerful player and I think that she is going to struggle. Bartoli was able to shoot right through her defenses and Lisicki will be able to do the same. Furthermore, she won't be limited by any sort of injury.
The two have never met before, but Lisicki should have a decent edge in this match-up. Medina Garrigues plays her best tennis on clay and she simply does not have the right skills for this surface. With that in mind, I am willing to back Sabine Lisicki today. The handicap might look big (and I will lower my stakes), but she should be able to cover it nonetheless, especially if she finds her rhythm early on.
