Houston @ Baltimore Betting: Strong defences can restrict amount of points in this match
The last two matches in the divisional round in the NFL postseason are played in a double header on Sunday with the opening match of the day coming from the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore as the Baltimore Ravens welcome the Houston Texans. The winner will face either New England Patriots or the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game next week with the Ravens the 3/10 favourites to progress with Boylesports.
Baltimore come into the match as the second seeds in the AFC which has given them the home field advantage here and that was important because their form on the road this season has been patchy to say the least. Joe Flacco needs a big postseason game to silence the critics but Baltimore will rely on Ray Rice and their defence to get the job done here with both of them on top of their game coming into the postseason.
Houston Texans have done well to get this far in many ways because they have been without their two main quarterbacks as Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart have been injured for much of the season. TJ Yates will be their trigger man in this match but the match from a Houston point of view will rest very much on the performance levels of their defence and their star running back Arian Foster who can be a tough man to stop.
This should be a match where defences come out on top. These defences are two of the better defences in the league and with most of the plays likely to be running plays I think the scoring will be unusually low for this postseason so far. Houston are unlikely to put up too many points but they can restrict the big plays and ensure the points total stays under 36.5pts.
