A former Gold Cup and Albert Bartlett winner, MINELLA INDO is arguably the classiest individual to turn up in this unique affair. It was only two years ago that he was runner-up in the Festival's blue riband event and it looks as though he has been laid out for this since a promising fourth over the course in December off top-weight. A winner of a Grade 3 at Punchestown earlier in the season, the son of Beat Hollow may not be ideally suited by the forecast heavy ground, but he stays all day and can give connections a first win in this race. Winner of the last two renewals, Delta Work should be thereabouts again following another light campaign into the Festival, while heavy ground would also be a plus for the son of Network. A bigger danger, though, may come from stablemate Coko Beach, who has won the Troytown and finished second in the Becher already this season. Sam Ewing's mount proved himself in this discipline when scoring comfortably at Punchestown last month and he is the highest rated in the field to boot. Runner-up in this last year and a previous winner at the Festival, Galvin is better suited to quicker ground, while Foxy Jacks did it well when scoring at the track in November and cannot be ruled out.

Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase Overview
The Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase is run over 3 miles 6 furlongs and 37 yards of the Cross-Country course and is eligible for horses aged five years or older. There are thirty-two obstacles to navigate during the race.
The race was originally run as a handicap before being changed to a conditions race from 2016 onwards. It is run on the second day of the Festival, usually as the fifth race on the card. The prize money for the winner is likely to be around £39,000.

Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase History
The race was established in 2005 when a fourth day was added to the Festival and in the eighteen renewals so far fifteen have fallen to Irish-based trainers with the French-trained Easyland taking the 2020 renewal.
It is one of three Cross-Country races run at Cheltenham throughout the year, with races currently also taking place in November and December.
Sporting Index was the first sponsor of this unique race with the whisky distillery Glanfarclas taking over in 2008 and is the current sponsor.
Tiger Roll is the standout horse to have won the contest in its history having won the race three times (2018, 2019, 2020) whilst also winning the Grand National in 2018 & 2019. Other dual winners are Garde Chapetre (2008, 2009), Balthazar King 2012, 2014) and Delta Work (2022, 2023).
Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase FAQ
Delta Work, trained by Gordon Elliott and ridden by Keith Donoghue won the 2023 renewal at odds of 11/10.
The prize money for the 2023 winner was £39,000.
It is run on the second day of the Festival, normally as the fifth race on the card. The 2024 renewal will be run on Wednesday,13th March.
