Gasquet vs Hewitt Betting: The Frenchman should be too strong for the local hero
Lucie Hradecka managed to defeat Alberta Brianti in the end, so we have already recorded our first win in this season and I am sure that we will be able to get decent profit in 2012. Today, I am quite interested in one of the Hopman Cup ties. France (1-0 after beating China) is going to play against Australia (0-1 after losing to Spain) in the second clash of the day and the encounter between Lleyton Hewitt and Richard Gasquet will certainly be in the centre of attention. The Australian crowd should be in full force, but I wonder whether that will change anything in this match.
The Frenchman comes into this season with high hopes and we all know that he has what it takes to reach the top 10. This match will be a much tougher test than his first one, but I think that he will be able to come through without any problems. Lleyton Hewitt is always strong in home conditions, but his continuing health problems are shortening his career and you never know what shape is he in. Yes, he was playing well in the first round, but most decent players would defeat the Spaniard, who has been struggling for some time, on that day. Gasquet is not going to give Hewitt so many chances and he is going to convert some of his own, you can be sure of that.
The handicap would probably be a bit higher under different circumstances and that is why this selection offers some value. Gasquet should simply be too strong for the local hero and I fancy him to win this one with something to spare. Lower stakes, but only because this is not an important tournament.
Back Richard Gasquet (-2.5) to beat Lleyton Hewitt for a 2/10 stake at 1.91 with Paddy Power
