What is the Betway Free Bet & Promotions?

Betway regularly offers bonuses and promotions that are focused on sporting events throughout the sporting calendar but it also works hard to ensure customers benefit from a range of offers and benefits that are long-term and cover a wide range of events from different sports. The offers and promotions available are also specific to the country that customers are based.

Here is a list of the long-term bonus offers and promotions offered by the sportsbook. These will be in place for a prolonged period of time for UK-based punters. If you want to check out the short-term offers and promotions relating to specific sporting events then it is worth visiting the site to see what deals they are offering at the time.

Betway Review

The Betway bookmaker is one of the more recent arrivals in the betting industry after being founded in 2006 as part of the Betway Group. The sportsbook boasts over 30,000 sports markets including live and in-play markets.

Betway is fully accredited by the international testing agency for the gambling industry eCOGRA. It offers its bookmaker service in 17 different languages for an unrivalled gaming experience for players all over the world with licenses in UK, Malta, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Denmark, Italy, and Belgium.

The firm has become synonymous with its high-profile sponsorship deals. It is the current title sponsor of the Premier League Darts, the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, the UK Snooker Championship, the Davis Cup, the Fed Cup, and the kit sponsor for Premier League club West Ham United.

Interestingly, the Betway Group also has a partnership deal with the Professional Players Federation which deals with the interests of professional sports people within the UK. It is also a vocal supporter of the Responsible Gambling Trust.

Betway is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission for UK players. It is licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority for players based outside of the UK.

Betway Mobile Betting & App

This is an area that Betway succeeds and fails in equal measure. It does offer relatively simple links to its mobile betting sections with the iOS and Android links on the right hand side of the main site but these links come under a host of Betway adverts and promos so it feels like it is thrown in for token value.

It is a shame because the actual mobile content of Betway is impressive and we would have thought it was a tool they would be more determined to promote. It is simplistic, effective, and clearly designed by a new kid on the betting industry block.

The mobile version for the browser is just as concise and if you would rather avoid downloading the app then you will not be missing out greatly. It offers convenient yet effective navigation across a range of sports and the different Betway brands. One of the better mobile products on the market so it does seem a bit strange that the bookmaker has not advertised its mobile product more with the expected increase in mobile gambling anticipated over the coming years.

Betway Website User Experience

At first glance, out of all the bookmaker sites online that we have reviewed Betway’s product is easily the one that has the most modern presentation. The use of vibrant colours and the font choice ensures it looks slick yet full of vigour.

The commonly-used three column layout means that the structure is solid and familiar across the site. The Betway brands are listed across the top of the page so you can switch between them with ease. Unfortunately, the list of sports can be found on the left side but come under the quick links section so they are not immediately visible which is disappointing.

One benefit of the quick links being so visible is that it does allow for easy navigation to popular parts of the site but it does also feel that as customers we are being sent to areas that Betway want us to be sent to. It would have been nice to see at least some link to a sports A-Z list without having to scroll down even if it was a drop down menu. It’s a shame the sports have not been displayed across the header of the page because there is a blank space above the central promotional offer graphics that could have hosted them.

There is the obvious emphasis on in-play betting with the link available in large text against a lime green background on the top left. Maybe this is a bit too emphasize because it does take up valuable space on the first page before scrolling down.

The central body of content is as you would expect with the latest current active betting markets presented and tabs allowing customers to switch between different sports with additional tabs to determine between the in-play, live, and upcoming markets. Not real complaints there, it is fairly comprehensive. The bookmaker also offers options to specify markets customers are searching for by letting them click on outright, double chance, draw no bet, and a range of other main markets for each sport when the customer is on a specific sports section.

Now the right side of the front page does feel slightly self indulgent. The betting slip is a valuable inclusion to make sure punters know exactly why they are here. The useful stats link is also a neat touch. However, after that it is promo and advert piled upon each other. The mobile links to download the mobile apps are incorrectly positioned in our opinion and should be higher. It feels like they were added as an after thought.

The fact that only the main body of content changes with each page ensures there is consistency and it is not too confusing. It feels like you are simply visiting a sub-section rather than a different page of the site. Overall, the general design has its flaws but there is reason behind each issue even if it does feel like the reason is to manipulate the customers as opposed to making their betting experience more convenient and enjoyable. That is the business attitude of the modern era betting company though we guess.

The navigational side of the Betway website is one of the easiest on the market when the bookmaker is not being sidetracked by trying to lead customers to certain sections of the site that they won’t customers to visit.

It would have been more beneficial for the different sports sections to be more visible. The fact users cannot even see the different sports listed on the first page without scrolling down is concerning and shows that Betway’s design frame might not have totally had the customers at the forefront of their mind.

On a positive, it is easy to find the popular markets with the quick links and the main body of content offering the current and upcoming markets. This makes it easy to keep up-to-date with the latest goings on and events.

In-play is a very en vogue topic in sports betting and Betway know this. They have made it almost impossible to miss their in-play betting section with a brash coloured icon. It does seem a bit over-enthusiastic but there we go.

In conclusion, the navigation is easy-to-use but sometimes feels a little misled. The overall design ensures a clean finish to the site and if you can’t find what you want immediately then it will not take long for you to stumble across it.

Betway Key Features

Betway is not as plush with its key features as some of the veteran bookmakers on the market but it does still offer a range of decent functions that will appeal to punters, particularly those that love their in-play betting.

The in-play betting is heavily pushed and it is arguably one of the best in-play options across the market. It has a wealth of sports offering in-play betting and the lay-out of the in-play section is very easy-to-use.

There is also a cash out option but this is poorly advertised on the site. In fact, you wouldn’t even know that there was a cash out function on the Betway site unless you scroll down to the bottom and find the text-only link at the foot of the page. Of course, if you are experienced you will recognise the cash out button on certain events but unless you are familiar with it you would not have a clue.

Betway also offers a blog for customers to read which offers an intriguing insight and can help to get discussion going. Not every bookmaker offers a blog but it is certainly something we feel is a useful area to have on a site.

The Betway Plus also offers benefits to loyal customers that use the bookmaker. It stops short of being a VIP service because anyone can become eligible for it but it’s a tidy little addition to make punters feel special if they use Betway regularly.

Betway Customer Support

In an age when bookmakers can sometimes put customer support down the pecking order on their list of priorities it is refreshing to have a firm like Betway that actually does its best to offer a superb customer service.

The help link on the top of the main page makes the contact pages easily accessible. On that page, it offers a selection of regional telephone numbers, live chat, email, and FAQs. It also gives customers the chance to contact support directly about corporate opportunities and how to fix a forgotten username or password issue.

On top of this, the standard of service when it comes to customer support is very highly rated. They are not the usual dulcet tones of someone wanting to find another job awaiting you at the end of the line. It feels like these are people that actually give two hoots about your problems and that makes a massive difference. Credit where it is due to Betway. More bookmakers could learn a thing or two from them about customer service.
