Everton vs Wigan Betting: Both teams can find the back of the net in opening FA Cup quarter final

This weekend is FA Cup quarter final weekend with eight sides all eyeing up a trip to Wembley which is the reward for winning the quarter final and making the semi final. The first quarter final comes from Goodison Park as Everton host Wigan in an all Premier League fixture. Everton were finalists in this competition four years ago and will be eyeing up another semi final while Wigan will be looking for a first semi final in the competition in their history.

Last change:

Everton go into this quarter final as the 4/9 favourites with Betfred  The Toffees are yet to win a major honour under David Moyes but this could be their real chance. They may have to play this quarter final without their keeper Tim Howard though as he is suffering with a back injury. Phil Jagielka is definitely out and John Heitinga will replace him. The likes of Steven Pienaar and Nikica Jelavic will hope to have good games.

Wigan have shuffled their pack throughout this competition but I sense they might play a stronger side in this match. The Latics have Adrian Lopez and Ryo Miyaichi back from injury and both could well feature as could Calum McManaman, who was man of the match for Wigan in the last round at Huddersfield. Arouna Kone has been in good goalscoring form and Roberto Martinez will hope that continues here.

As a rule Everton don’t keep a lot of clean sheets and without Jagielka and possibly Tim Howard I’m not sure that will change here. Wigan don’t keep many either but the one thing both sides do have is a goal threat so I think we’ll see some goals at both ends in this quarter final. The prize is huge but both teams have matchwinners so I like the idea of both teams going out to grab the prize which makes both to score look good to me.
