Deccan Chargers vs Chennai Super Kings Betting: Deccan can leave defending champions without a win
The second match of the Indian Premier League double header on Saturday comes from the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam as the Deccan Chargers play their first match in the tournament when they entertain the defending champions the Chennai Super Kings under the lights. Deccan are former winners of this tournament themselves and will be looking to return to past glories so this should be a good game of cricket.
Deccan Chargers come into the match as the 13/8 outsiders with Ladbrokes but they will have seen Chennai’s opening match and gained confidence from that. The Chargers will be without Kumar Sangakkara for this match as he is on international duty so Cameron White skippers the side. JP Duminy could be a star for the side with the bat and I’m sure he’ll help out with the ball. Dale Steyn looks the key man for the Chargers with the ball.
Chennai come into this match off the back of a pretty heavy beating to Mumbai Indians in the opening match of the tournament and if you use that as a form guide it wasn’t the greatest result considering Mumbai were blown away by Pune on Friday. Michael Hussey is still away on international duty so Chennai will have to go largely with the same batting line up which failed them in their opener. They will be hoping $2m man Ravindra Jadeja offers more in this match too.
I think at the prices and with home advantage Deccan Chargers have to be worth a pop here. Cameron White is probably a better leader for them than Sangakkara will so in a funny way that will be a boost to them but Chennai looked awful in their first match and if that continues here then they will lose again. At 13/8 I’ll take the hosts because there’s no way I could back Chennai at odds on after the way they played in their first match.
Back Deccan Chargers to beat Chennai Super Kings for a 4/10 stake at 2.63 with Ladbrokes
