Dartford vs Wrexham Betting: Goals may well be at a premium at Dartford on Friday night
The race for promotion to the Football League is really hotting up and Blue Square Premier leaders Wrexham head to Dartford on Friday night looking to open up a six point gap at the summit ahead of the remainder of the weekend matches. Dartford were right in the mix at the start of the season but as was expected they have fallen away recently which explains why Wrexham are 6/5 favourites for this one.
Dartford have Harry Crawford back in their ranks now after he was loaned back to the Darts after signing for Barnet in January. His goal threat might well see their form improve again but even with improved form it is hard to see anything other than a top half finish for Dartford. Given that this is their first season at this level there’s no harm in that but there’s no doubt they’ll have a good go at winning this match.
Wrexham find themselves three points clear at the minute but they are under pressure to keep winning because teams in behind them have enough games in hand to overtake them if they win them. With a cup final to look forward to in two weeks time it will be interesting to see if the focus remains on the league although perhaps this game is too early for eyes to be drifting towards the Wembley final.
I would expect Wrexham to win but one thing we’ve seen throughout this Blue Square Premier season is smaller clubs hassling the bigger sides and getting results and it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise in the world if Dartford take something from this game, especially with all the pressure on Wrexham. Wrexham away games tend to be tight and low scoring and with the pressure on the game and the just win time of the season I think this will be similar so under 2.5 goals looks a fair play to me.
