Chennai Super Kings vs Kings XI Punjab Betting: Chennai have the hitters to hit the most 6's in this one
The Chennai Super Kings have been a bit hit and miss in this season’s Indian Premier League and the defending champions take on another side who have been inconsistent on Saturday when they host the Kings XI Punjab side to the M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Despite being hot and cold Chennai have moved almost unnoticed up to 3rd in the table. A win for the Kings XI will put them right back into the mix.
Chennai come into this match as the 4/7 favourites with Ladbrokes and they will fancy their chances on their home ground. They will continue to be without Mike Hussey who the game comes too soon for but he should be in India but the time the Super Kings play again. It remains to be seen if he’ll get into the side though because Faf du Plessis has been something of a revelation in the competition so far.
Kings XI Punjab have gone well with the bat in the last couple of matches which is a surprise because they have been without their captain Adam Gilchrist but sadly his absence has had an effect in the field and his side haven’t been able to contain sides consistently enough. Praveen Kumar has been a bit disappointment so if Azhar Mahmood and Piyush Chawla don’t keep things tight the Kings XI generally find themselves in trouble.
I expect Chennai to win this match but as we’ve seen with odds on shots in this tournament in recent matches there is no guarantee. Rather than back Chennai to win the match at 4/7 I would rather take them to hit the most 6’s. In Raina, Dhoni, du Plessis and Morkel they have four of the naturally bigger hitters in the competition and other than Marsh and maybe Hussey the Kings XI don’t have anything like as natural a hitter. 10/11 looks a fair price on the hosts to outhit their opponents in this one.
