Foxhunter Chase Info

This race is open to horses aged 5 and above that have qualified by taking part in a number of point to point or hunter chase races and it generally appeals to those nearing the end of their careers. It is run over the same course and distance as the Gold Cup but does not have anywhere near the same class of horses. The race is usually won by an older more experienced type rather than a young pretender to the chasing scene.

Foxhunter Chase Latest Betting

This is another race that the top jockeys sit out and although it may seem like an anti climax to the punters still celebrating their Gold Cup winnings, it is a Gold Cup of sorts for the amateur jockeys. One thing that doesn't change is that it's another stamina sapping race and you are hoping you are still in with a chance turning for home as the horses fade away and the plodders start to stay on through beaten horses.

The Irish have a great record in this contest and have won every race since 2010, both Salsify and On The Fringe have won the race twice in that time.
