Celkon Mobile Cup Betting: India can continue their good form out in the Caribbean
Less than a week after the conclusion of the Champions Trophy, West Indies, India and Sri Lanka are back in ODI action as the three sides head to the Caribbean for a tri series over the next fortnight. The tournament, named the Celkon Mobile Cup, sees the three sides playing each other twice in the round robin stage before the two best sides meet in the final. India are the 6/4 favourites with Stan James to win the tournament.
West Indies will be eager to thrill the home crowds with their big hitting and calypso style of cricket. They have named pretty much the same squad for the early part of the tournament as they had in the Champions Trophy with the exception of Ramnaresh Sarwan and Jason Holder. The likes of Andre Russell are playing county cricket in England so that suggests the West Indies are happy with 13 men.
Sri Lanka have also made some changes to their squad for this tournament. Thisara Perera is one player left out, which was a surprise. Tillakaratne Dilshan is out with the injury he sustained in the Champions Trophy so there are recalls for Ajantha Mendis and Upul Tharanga. The rest of the squad is the one which made the semi finals of the Champions Trophy over the last few weeks.
India will go to the Caribbean full of confidence and they will probably find conditions to their liking when they get there too as the wickets turn a lot more out there now. They’ve made just one change to their Champions Trophy squad with Irfan Pathan ruled out with injury. Shami Ahmed is the man to have replaced him otherwise India are as they were for their successful Champions Trophy campaign.
We saw in the Champions Trophy just how strong India are. Even in conditions which weren’t always to their comfort they were still miles too good so with conditions more suited to them in this tournament I would expect them to go well again. On occasion the West Indies’ big hitters may come off but over seven matches I expect India to be the strongest side in this tournament and at 6/4 they look a good price to win the event as if they make the final they’ll be a lot shorter than that to win it.
Back India to win Celkon Mobile Cup for a 4/10 stake at 2.50 with Stan James
