Atlanta @ New York Giants Betting: Giants look like having the upper hand on the Falcons in playoffs
The wildcard round of the NFL playoffs concludes with a double header of tasty action on Sunday night and the opening match comes from the MetLife Stadium in New York as the New York Giants host the 5th seeds in the NFC the Atlanta Falcons to town. The winner of this match will set up a date in Green Bay next week. The Giants won the Super Bowl recently so will look to use that experience here.
In a way the Giants have been playing playoff football for the last two weeks because any defeat to New York Jets or the Dallas Cowboys would have ended their season there and then. However they picked up two big wins and now they will look to move into the second week of the playoffs and a mouthwatering battle with the Packers. Eli Manning has been excellent this year as has Victor Cruz and if the Giants can get their running game going they should be ok.
Atlanta Falcons are a funny team. It’s a credit to them in my eyes that they do so well because they don’t have a real standout star of the NFL in their side although Julio Jones has the capacity to be one in time. They are an incredibly efficient team though but they can be attacked as we saw in New Orleans a couple of weeks ago. Running the ball on this Falcons side isn’t easy though.
This match could come down to a couple of things. How the Giants excellent pass rush can deal with Matt Ryan and if they don’t get to him how blown apart their secondary will be. However I believe experience of this situation is massive and when you couple it with home field advantage I believe the aces lie firmly with the Giants here.
