Curragh Races Overview

Curragh Racecourse is a flat-only racecourse situated in County Kildare close to Dublin. This course, more commonly referred to as ‘The Curragh’, is the leading Flat track in Ireland.

The track hosts races such as the Irish 1000 and 2000 Guineas, Irish Oaks and Derby and Irish St Leger just to name a few, it is rooted in Irish horse racing history.

The majority of Ireland’s Group 1 races are held at the track, and it is renowned for putting up the biggest purses.

The track is right-handed with a circuit of 2 miles, a run-in of 3 furlongs and an uphill finish. The 5 and 6 furlong races are held on a straight course.
