Watford vs Tottenham Betting: Vicarage Road can play host to a few goals in FA Cup
The FA Cup with Budweiser reaches the fourth round this weekend and the action begins on Friday night when Watford host Tottenham in a North London derby at Vicarage Road in front of the ESPN cameras. Watford beat Bradford in the last round and can be backed at 7/1 with Stan James to make through this tie at the first time of asking. Tottenham saw off Cheltenham in the opening round.
Watford come into the match off the back of a heavy 3-0 reversal at Birmingham last weekend but with nothing to lose their young squad can have a go here without the pressure of league points weighing them down. Adrian Mariappa has been a transfer target for Newcastle but he is set to play in this match while England under 21 striker Marvin Sordell, another linked with a move away from Watford, is also expected to feature for the Championship side.
Spurs come into the match off the back of their unfortunate loss at Man City last weekend and they will give a rest to a few players in this match including Ledley King. Gareth Bale, Younes Kaboul and Scott Parker are all doubts for this match having picked up knocks in the defeat to Man City last weekend so the likes of Michael Dawson could well return to the side. Emmanuel Adebayor is available too after being forced to miss last week’s match against his parent club.
Watford will give it a go here but I expect Spurs to win. With players being rested and everything though I’m not certain Spurs will cover any handicaps so I’ll just take the over 2.5 goals here. Watford are quite leaky at the back at the level below Spurs and Spurs themselves are never watertight and that’s to be exaggerated if players are rested so I like the look of goals in this match.
