Barneveld vs Hamilton Betting: Raymond Barneveld can continue his impressive record against Hamilton in Nottingham
The second match of the night at the Premier League darts at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham sees Raymond Barneveld taking on Andy Hamilton with both men pushing for places in the semi finals even this early in the season. Barneveld is in the logjam on six points going into this round of matches while Hamilton is in touching distance on four points. Barneveld goes into the match as a 4/6 favourite with Boylesports.
Raymond Barneveld has three wins and a defeat from his first four matches and to be fair the only man who beat him, Michael van Gerwen, would have beaten anyone on that night so it is no disgrace to have lost that. In the three weeks Barneveld has won in the league so far this season, he has averaged over 99 each time with his heavy scoring setting up the wins for him.
Andy Hamilton has two wins and two heavy defeats on his record so far. He was probably a bit lucky to get one of his wins with Gary Anderson missing a stack of doubles against him but he took full advantage. His other win came against James Wade while he has losses to Robert Thornton and Michael van Gerwen. Hamilton isn’t scoring as heavy on the treble 20 as we are used to and that will need to change pretty quickly if he’s to win this.
There aren’t many on the planet who can live with Raymond Barneveld the way he’s playing and Andy Hamilton will go into this match knowing he hasn’t beaten Barneveld in any of their last 18 meetings, and it is fair to say Barneveld wasn’t playing as well as he is now in a lot of those matches which doesn’t bode well for the Hammer. I think Barneveld will win this and by virtue of him throwing first I think it is worth having a piece of the even money that he wins no worse than 7-4 which is what he will win by if he breaks early and then holds throw.
