Australia vs Kenya Betting: Shane Watson can feed on this weak Kenyan bowling attack
The second match in the Cricket World Cup on Sunday sees Australia taking on Kenya in what is expected to be an extremely one sided game of cricket at the MA Chinnaswamy in Bangalore. This ground has already been the scene of some fantastic moments in this World Cup but it’s unlikely to see another in this match. Kenya have lost all four of their matches in the tournament so far barely making an impression in any of them while Australia remain the only unbeaten side in Group A.
Michael Hussey looks set to make his first appearance in this tournament for Australia in this match having replaced the injured Dougie Bollinger in the squad. David Hussey, Michael’s brother, is most likely to make way while Steven Smith won’t be totally at ease with his place in the side yet. Shane Watson and Brad Haddin will continue to open the batting. It’s hard to know what Kenya will do here. They’ve used everyone in their squad and are still getting walloped. Steve Tikolo missed traning on Friday and it will be a big blow if he misses out.
Barring the biggest upset ever seen in cricket Australia will win this match and they’ll probably win it well. The only dilemma from a betting point of view is whether to target the top Australia batsman market or the top bowler one. Shaun Tait will be popular in the bowling market but my concern with him is he doesn’t bowl long spells so Lee or Johnson could beat him.
Instead I’ll look to the top batsman market and Shane Watson is my man. There’s two scenarios here. Either Australia will win the toss and bat first on a featherbed of a Bangalore wicket in which case I would expect Watson to score heavily or Kenya bat first and don’t put up much of a total and Watson will lead a batting effort which may only need 3 or 4 men. By opening the batting he’s in control of the situation from the top and being the quickest scoring of the Aussie batsmen he’s the pick for their top batsman.
