WTA Baku Betting: Bojana Jovanovski might be able to break through in Baku
There is only one WTA tournament on the schedule this week and we are actually moving over to the capital city of Azerbaijan. Vera Zvonareva is not going to be defending her title, so the pressure will probably be on Ksenia Pervak, who did really well in the first edition of the tournament. However, it is almost impossible to back her at the price that we can currently get at Stan James, so I am going to look at the second part of the draw instead.
There is undoubtedly plenty of talent on offer, but one player nevertheless stands above the rest in my opinion. I have always rated Bojana Jovanovski as a big talent and she has already shown her capabilities on a few occasions. However, there have not been any big breakthroughs just yet. But why could not this be the right time for a success for some kind?
The conditions should be right up her alley and her half of the draw does not really look that tough. She is going to start her campaign against Lesya Tsurenko and that is going to be a tough start, but the rest could be a bit easier - it only depends on her current form. The seeded players do not really look that threatening - Alexandra Panova is better on clay and Nina Bratchikova is not that great in all honesty. Finally, Andrea Hlavackova, who is arguably the best player from the second half of draw, should have her mind elsewhere with the Olympics coming up.
Jovanovski can naturally be a bit hit or miss, but she certainly has what it takes to beat everyone from this rather poor field and this is a really good chance for her to get some much-needed ranking points.
