Whitlock vs Hamilton Betting: Andy Hamilton can keep his Indian sign over Whitlock with win in Premier League semi
The McCoys Premier League has reached the final night as the tournament is decided with two semi finals and a final on Thursday night at the o2 Arena in London. The first semi final is a repeat of the World Championship semi final between Andy Hamilton and Simon Whitlock, a match which Hamilton won. Hamilton is a 7/4 shot with William Hill to win this best of 15 leg semi final.
Simon Whitlock comes into the semi final having finished in second place in the league table but we see all the time in playoffs in all sports that where you finish in the league means nothing. It is all about who performs on the night which matters. Simon Whitlock will need to hit his doubles in this match if he is to prevail. By winning here he would have produced his best major tournament run since he was the runner up in the 2010 World Championship.
Andy Hamilton should be full of confidence coming into this semi final. Only Phil Taylor beat him in the last eight weeks of the Premier League and when he needed to produce in what was a knockout match against Kevin Painter in the last week of the regular season last week, he very much did, winning by 8 legs to 1. It was a scoreline which didn’t flatter him either.
Andy Hamilton has the Indian sign over Simon Whitlock at the minute. He beat him in miraculous circumstances in the World Matchplay last year, beat him again in the World Championship and has a draw and a win over the Aussie in the Premier League this season too. Hamilton’s deliberate style could be a factor in those wins as Whitlock is someone who likes to have a rhythm. I still believe Whitlock is slightly flattered by his run in the World Championship in 2010 and at 7/4 Andy Hamilton can be the only call with his big match pedigree not in question and with the hex he has on Whitlock currently.
Back A.Hamilton to beat S.Whitlock for a 4/10 stake at 2.75 with William Hill
