WGC Cadillac Championship Betting: Tiger Woods 16/5 to win the tournament after taking share of first round lead

Tiger Woods is now the 16/5 favourite with Bet365 to win the WGC Cadillac Championship after he took a share of the first round lead on Thursday shooting a six under par 66 in good scoring conditions at Doral. Woods played with Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald on the opening day but he made sure it was he who was the centre of attention with a solid round of golf.

Woods shares the lead with four other men. One of those is Bubba Watson who was the runner up here last year and looks set for another solid week at Doral this week. He only had one bogey in his round and you can back the US Masters champion at a general 12/1 shot. Spaniard Sergio Garcia hit the ball well on Thursday and he can be backed at 14/1 with Blue Square after tying for the lead with a 66.

Sergio Garcia’s round was bogey free and he was joined on six under by another bogey free round from his Ryder Cup teammate Graeme McDowell. ‘Gmac’ has been hitting a little bit of form in recent weeks and he put himself right in the mix after 18 holes with his first round 66. The Northern Irishman is now 18/1 to win the tournament with Coral  The other man on six under par is the in form Swede Freddie Jacobson. His round had two eagles in it and he is now a general 22/1 shot to win from here.

After the five men on six under par there are a group on five under after the first round. They are headed by Phil Mickelson but also include Hunter Mahan, Steve Stricker and Peter Hanson. Mickelson is the shortest price of that quartet and can be backed at a general 14/1.
