Welsh Dragons vs Warwickshire Betting: Welsh Dragons can pick up their first win by beating the Bears
The second televised game from the Friends Life T20 on Sunday comes from Glamorgan’s Swalec Stadium in Cardiff as the newly named Welsh Dragons take on the Warwickshire Bears in front of what is reported to be a full house. Glamorgan began their tournament with a no result at Northampton last week while Warwickshire have lost one and had another washed out. The Bears come into the match as the 8/11 favourite with Coral.
Welsh Dragons, or Glamorgan as we know them better, have targeted this tournament this season and it has shown by the side they have put together. Marcus North was here for the season anyway but Shaun Marsh doesn’t come cheap but he is a very good T20 player. Martin van Jaarsveld is the same. With the ball the likes of Simon Jones and James Harris are a solid new ball pairing but the spin twins of Croft and Cosker are so often the ones to get it done.
Warwickshire will be without their England duo of Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott for this match. They were missing in their first match and it left Warwickshire with a very light looking batting line up. In that match Chris Woakes batted at six and that’s at least one if not two places too high for him so the Bears could look to extend their batting line up. With the ball they are usually competitive at least.
I like Glamorgan in this match. I’ve said from day one of the tournament that this Bears batting line up isn’t remotely long enough or good enough. It lacks at least one if not two solid batsmen and you can’t get the job done with all rounders all the time. Glamorgan will be roared on by a good crowd here, they have a good batting line up and a solid bowling attack and I believe they will open their win account in this match.
