Warwickshire vs Worcestershire Betting: Worcestershire can take advantage of weak Warwickshire batting

Friday’s Friends Life T20 action comes from Edgbaston where there is a west-midlands derby taking place as Warwickshire Bears welcome their local rivals Worcestershire Royals for a crucial Mid/Wales/West group match. Warwickshire have already played one match in the tournament and lost it heavily at Somerset so it is vital that they win here. Worcestershire begin their campaign in this match and will hope to do so with a win.

Warwickshire were thumped by Somerset at Taunton on Wednesday and their biggest problem was how light their batting line up was however they are 8/11 favourites with Skybet for this match. They weren’t helped by Jim Troughton doing himself some mischief in the warm up which made a light batting line up even lighter but they were also given some fearful tap from Somerset’s big hitters when they were bowling. It could be that Neil Carter finds a way into the side for both his batting and his bowling abilities.

Worcestershire have began their CB40 campaign quite well which will give them confidence going into this match. Phil Hughes is their overseas player and he will help to provide runs which they have been short of in this tournament in the last year or two. Vikram Solanki is in very good form right now while Jack Shantry has been among the wickets. Gareth Andrew and Moeen Ali offer good all round options to Daryl Mitchell so Worcestershire look well balanced.

I think Worcestershire might be worth chancing in this match because Warwickshire’s batting line up looks so light it is untrue and there is only so many times Rikki Clarke and Darren Maddy can get them out of the mire. I think Worcestershire have the better batting line up as a whole here and their bowling attack isn’t that much weaker that Warwickshire are a certainty to win this. With their confidence dented now could be a good time to take on the Bears and take the Royals to open their campaign with a win.
