Reasoning
The lanky Swede is one of the most in-form players on the European Tour and although it took him 245 attempts to finally notch his first European Tour event (BMW Italian Open, 2010), there are strong signs that the 40 year-old is about to add to his tally. Andersson Hed is an excellent putter on bentgrass-based surfaces who can score heavily when he's finding greens - it's typically his driving which causes most of his problems, however the wide fairways here in Portugal will be right up his alley - indeed 2 top 10s here in 4 starts (3rd 2007, 9th 2010) proves he likes the track. In those 2 efforts he's mustered rounds of 64, 66 (3 times) and 67 for total of -19 and -14 respectively - the Oceanico Victoria seems to get the best out of Fredrik who knows that one more effort is all that's required to secure a lucrative visit to Dubai in 6 weeks time. 3 top-5 finishes in his last 5 starts suggest he's close to his peak and I wouldn't be surprised to see him make that 4 out of 6 this week and possibly adding another title if one of my other selections doesn't beat him to the finish...
