Larrazabal is a momentum player who can score heavily when the putter is compliant (as it often is on bentgrass greens) and with wide fairways and less-than-penal rough he'll find his sometimes wayward driving doesn't hamper his chances in Portugal, an event which he's improved upon each time he's played with scores of -8 (2009), -12 (2010) and -16 (2011)...if that progression continues then he'll be right in the mix on Sunday. He could (and perhaps should) have won in Holland last month when in a great position coming down the stretch before having to wait 30 minutes for eventual winner Peter Hanson to complete the 16th - a hole which Pablo went on to bogey with his concentration ruined. Last week's Alfred Dunhill Links was far too slow a format for the Spaniard who needs the pace to be high to maintain momentum - with birdies flying in all around he'll have his wish in terms of speed of play and with it a fantastic chance to score here in my opinion
