Not a lot of pace on with only one obvious front runner in the Johnston runner Finity Run who won a seller last time out on turf but Johnston doesn’t drop many in sellers unless they are hard to win with and he has struggled in handicaps and looked a moody character at times and looks worth avoiding.
Peachez has been running well recently but often gets going to late and needs a decent pace to chase. Also creeping back up the weights.
Toughness Danon has shown plenty of attitude at times and although run on penultimate start not awful still falls some way short at the moment and never get involved on only start on the AW at Kempton (well out of form at the time).
English Summer is an obvious favourite having won a shade cosily last time out and had run better previous start aswell which was when the tongue tie was fitted for first time. He had dropped a long way in the weights and a 5lb rise looks lenient especially as useful apprentice claims that back but polytrack form has been pretty poor so needs to prove he handles it and at 6/4 that’s risky.
For me Sedgwick might be worth a risk at a reasonable price, he can be very in and out but does atleast know how to win around here with 2 wins from 5 runs in claimers. Won well at Kempton in August off a 4lb lower mark, wasn’t beaten far on penultimate start at York in a competitive race, disappointing last time out but possible excuse the ground was to play there, very useful apprentice takes the 7lb off not badly drawn and can be ridden handily which I feel might be needed here.
