Dreadfully weak affair, most of these have something to prove and generally struggle for consistency.
Mr Optimistic has plummeted in the weights having failed to beat a rival in recent starts on turf but his polytrack form does offer some hope. Now 17lb below last running mark on the AW when 2nd at Kempton and won easily over CD off an 8lb higher mark, not seen on polytrack since those 2 runs and the way he has come down the weights he could be dangerous if this is the key to him, has already been some money for him with a claimer on board claiming a further 5lb.
Ballinargh Girl is another with similar profile having plummeted in the weights but did run well on polytrack debut over 6f around here last time out beaten less than a length in first time headgear aswell, on a very workable mark if blinkers work again and the drop in trip to 5f should suit if the blinkers work again.
Loyal Royal is another that has tumbled in the weights and has been very hit and miss this year and has ultimately become very hard to win with at present. Almaty Express has dropped 2lb below his last winning mark here in July which was his 17th win here, recent runs poor and needs more here.
Gran Canaria Queen has found some consistency recently but her mark just about sums her up at present and busy spell gonna catch up sooner or later. Speedyfix comes from a yard who appear to have turned the corner, did appear to be in some sort of form behind Sally Swansong last time out when finishing well before meeting trouble, not sure he has enough in hand to turn around that form.
Sallys Swansong could well just be ahead of her mark still despite the short winning distance last time out, she had a tough draw to overcome and met some trouble in running so a 4lb rise looks lenient, much better drawn tonight to sit more prominently and atleast in some sort of form recently which count for a lot in a field like this.
