The first class 7 handicap of the AW season to kick off a reasonable card and although most of these do struggle to win one does catch my eye as being a tad overpriced and worth a tentative bet.
It might be too soon to completely write College Doll off, she ran ok in a maiden may well have more to offer yet off this sort of mark, can easily be forgiven last run as was perhaps in need of the run but may still need more to take this despite handicapper taking real chance dropping her 5lb and widish draw not helpful.
Botanist has gone seriously the wrong way since winning his maiden in 2009, glimmers of hope at times but nothing but inconsistent.
First Fast Now is another that hasn’t exactly fulfilled his potential shown at beginning of career. Ran an ok race but found it hard to make ground up here last time out and may need further now.
Vhujon won this race last year off this mark, and unlike most of these does know how to win although 5f probably not optimum trip these days and best watched on back of some lesser efforts recently.
Perfect Honour looks a little overpriced in a weak race. She is generally reliable which pays for a lot at this grade, she ran a much better race last time out at Lingfield showing great attitude and also that she can be ridden off the pace which she will need to be from stall 8 tonight. If the first time blinkers have a positive effect and freshened up by the 60 day break she may well just be a little more trustworthy than most in this race.
