Reasoning
Really strong race for a class 4 event and plenty of likeable sorts. No shortage of pace with the likes of Small John and Emkanaat in the field along with several others who like to be up with the pace so this race could pay to be held up.
Prime Exhibit looks potentially well treated on his very best form but has found handicaps tough recently and has had to drop to claiming company to get latest 2 wins and starts out for another new yard whos runners have been a little quite on both sides of the irish sea.
Taffe is becoming hugely unreliable and looked dismal off a 6lb higher mark last time out from winning previous start at Ponte and this step up in trip doesn’t look the obvious answer.
Fast Finian has won his last 2 starts against his own age and looks to be improving but the 2nd from the latest race has since let that form down and a 5lb rise in the weights and against his elders looks a tough ask in a race like this.
Smalljohn has also won his last 2 starts over CD but the last of those came in June, does tend to go well fresh more often than not but a 3lb rise leaves him on a career high mark, along with wide draw and the presence of plenty of other front runners there will probably be other days for him.
Right Result perhaps won a tad more cosily than the margin suggests last time out and a 2lb rise looks potentially lenient and should get a race run to suit but the draw of stall 1 could be a tad tricky with Roy The Boy also likely to go for the rail run may find himself trapped in againt the rail when needing daylight as he does look a tricky ride but there is no better man than Hughes.
For me Roy The Boy just looks far too ahead of his mark to ignore. Clearly taken to this surface, winning easily enough on penultimate start off a 6lb lower mark before backing that effort up earlier in the week when just failing to reel in Majuro who got first run that day, well drawn today for similar tactics and clearly turned out again quickly for yard going well at present before the handicapper has his say on that run.
