In a Dutchman quarter-final, Thiemo De Bakker had little problems against Wesley Koolhof to advance in semi-finals where will face Portuguese Joao Sousa. He was solid on serve wining a lot of cheap points, he pound any short ball coming from his opponent and had the upper hand on power. Sousa advanced over Yannick Mertens who failed to raise his level of play after the tough match against Sergeyev being a little bit tired and some bad timing on court. The Portuguese has a good draw so far meting out of form players but a tougher task ahead with the local player. De Bakker raised his level in the last two matches, his serve works well here, a better backhand wing for the Dutchman to go for his shots down the line as Sousa runs a lot around the backhand to hit the forehand, better returns for De Bakker and we see the Dutchman favorite to advance in two close sets.
