Reasoning

In a match which lasted more then three hours and a half to complete, the Serbian Boris Pashanski advanced to the semi-finals of BRD Brasov Challenger beating number two seeded Victor Hanescu in a match where three tie-breaks were played. Both were solid on serve with only two breaks, one each in the second set, Hanescu obtained better angles moving Pashanski more on the baseline while the Serbian relied on serve and hard hitting from the back but also impressed in defense and took advantage of the lose errors made by Romanian in key moments, Hanescu was the better player but went down in the end. Haider-Maurer stayed with more then two hours less on court to beat qualifier Goran Tosic, the first set was closer but after that the Austrian easily ended the match. The Serbian will rely once more on serve and his solid ground strokes but hard to see him resisting too much, Haider-Maurer served well this week and wasn’t contested so far, he has deep and powerful ground strokes to push Pashanski way behind the baseline, the faster conditions suits well to the Austrian who also beat him this year in Sibiu Challenger, Pashanski can resist for a set but we see the Austrian favorite to advance in the final.
