Only one hour and thirteen minutes needed fourth seed Filippo Volandri to advance in quarter-finals of Genova Challenger. A match which went in on direction, Volandri didn’t pushed too much, he returned well and had the upper hand on court while Begemann rushed to the net to cut off the angles but he was passed a lot. The Spaniard, won against Frederico Gil and despite that lost a set he didn’t looked in real trouble as the Portuguese lacked rhythm producing more errors on court. Guttierez-Ferrol has a reliable serve and advance a lot at the net to put pressure on his opponent but Volandri does well against net rushers, the Spaniard isn’t the most reliable player from the back of the court especially when is a step-two behind and once more the Italian should advance convincingly in two sets.
