A better composure on court for Romanian Victor Hanescu after some struggles in first round, making his life easier against Gerard Granollers to advance in quarter-finals. Some rallies but Hanescu had the upper hand on backhand especially slice, good serve and returning. Will meet for the first time Boris Pashanski for a place in semi-finals, the Serbian started well the match behind the serve, Marti managed to push him in the second forcing long rallies but suffered on consistency and the Serbian won in straight sets. Pashanski has a reliable serve to win cheap points or seek weak returns, clean shots on both sides and resist well in rallies, Hanescu has a good backhand wing which goes well down the line or slice, good returns to put pressure on Pashanski’s serve, there will be a closer match but the Romanian should advance further.
