Weak apprentice handicap over 7f here and I'm interested in one of the more unexposed runners in the field here with Alistair Lidderdale's filly, who has only had four runs in her short career to date.
She wasn't disgraced on debut despite being comfortably beaten in the end but only saw the racetrack sparingly afterwards - returning from a seven month break to run a 10l 4th at Kempton. After this is when she joined her current yard but was again not seen for five months when running a promising race on the turf course at Lingfield. She set a good gallop from the front - showing plenty of pace - and only was passed for 2nd by a couple of runners in the final furlong having been sent off at 80/1. It was a decent effort and suggested she could win races at a lowly level.
She disappointed a bit on her handicap debut when travelling well if a little keen at Salisbury but couldn't quicken at all on soft ground and I'm happy enough to allow her that effort on her first try with such underfoot conditions. I'm hoping she'll just be better on quicker (pedigree suggests that's plausible) and if so, she has a chance here having been dropped 2lbs to a mark of 54. The capable Leonna Mayor takes 3lbs off and the yard are in good form.
