Today in the NPB we have the Hanshin Tigers heading to Mazda Stadium to play the 2nd one of this 3-game series against the Hiroshima Carp after losing the opener 3-4. Hanshin with 35-48 record are close to the bottom, they are 5th in the Central league with very modest form, winning 3 of their last 10 games. Starting pitcher in this one for the Tigers will be experienced Yuya Ando, right-hander, 3-6, 3.42 who has now 2 losses in a row. On the other side the situation is different, Hiroshima with a 41-41 record are 3rd in the rankings, winning 3 and another 3 draws in their last 10. They will have righty Yuya Fukui, 1-2, 4.20 ERA who is coming after a quality start against the Giants, pitching 6.0 innings and giving up only 1 run. Despite the fact that the Tigers leads the series this season against the Carp by 6-4, Hiroshima in this one will have a major advantage, and that is the home ground. As a fact Hanshin is one of the weekest in the whole NPB when playing on road winning just 14 out of 37 and with a 12-game losing streak. So a little better form and this critical home ground advantage I believe could bring the win to the Carp.
