I rate Pettersson extremely highly and I wasn't happy when missing out on his Harbour Town victory back in April at 50/1, but the amiable Swede has the perfect game characteristics and CV of results to have convinced me to add him to my John Deere Classic team this week. His debut PGA Tour win at Copperhead in 2005 and later wins at Muirfield (06), Sedgefield (08) and St Georges GCC (10), highlight a player who is comfortable on short tree-lined tracks and it's worth recognising that 2 of his wins have been 'up-state' with the other 3 on Carolina type courses. Any CV that holds wins on Bent carpet at Sedgefield, Muirfield and St Georges says everything and when the belly putter works Carl can shoot extremely low on resort-style courses as he's racked up red scores of -15 (Humble Bent mix), -17(TPC Summerlin Bent), -20 (Kapalua), -18(St Georges Bent/Poa) and -21(Sedgefield Bent) since 2008. 5th here in 2007 when shooting -14, its worth noting that the last 4 winners of the John Deere Classic tournament had already won in the season prior to victory in Illinois
