Reasoning
First round at Newport (USA, grass) and we`ll have australian Marinko Matosevic taking on american Jesse Levine. This is the 2nd official meeting between the two, they`ve met once before, in 2010 on hard when Mosevic won it in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. Marinko who is currently ranked 73rd in the world is slowly but surely upping his level, this season he made some very decent results, reaching the Delray Beach final (beating Gulbis, Sela and Karlovic along the way) and winning 2 challenger titles on hardcourt. So just by the efficiency he had this season on quick surfaces you could tell that he is not that into claycourt. He played some grass to and after a slow start he made it to the quarterfinals at Eastbourne (as a qualifier) beating along the way the world number 20, Richard Gasquet. On the other side Levine, ussualy in the challenger circuit ranked just 90th in the world (best position) has a title this year, of course in a challenger tourmanent. He had a decent run at Wimbledon, starting from the qualfiers and reaching the 2nd round but still, he didn`t have to take on players that strong (one proof is that he lost only 1 set). I believe the advantage is on Matosevic side who has a bigger serve and last but not least positive record against Levine on quick surfaces. Win Marinko Matosevic in straight sets in my oppinion.
